Scentsy Go Review

Scentsy Go Review

The Scentsy Go is a portable fragrance device, recently released by the Scentsy company. It runs on battery power and is a rechargeable device. When testing out this product in the office, I had to first charge it up. The instructions indicated that it would take six hours to fully charge. However, using a fast charge, it only took about four hours total.

After it charged, I placed one Scentsy pod into the device. The second day of using it, I ended up putting in the second Scentsy pod. I decided to go with the Vanilla Bean Buttercream scent. I could smell the scent instantly after starting up the device by turning on the fan. In regards to the light-up display, I think it is a nice feature but don’t really find it as a necessity for me personally as I was more concerned with actually being able to smell the fragrance from the device so I have only used the light up display for a few seconds just to make sure it worked properly, when initially testing out the product.

Regarding its battery life, it lasted over the course of three work days (during a 40 hour week) before the LED light began to flash, indicating to me that the battery was getting low, which was around nineteen and a half hours when the indicator first appeared.  Another benefit is that this device doesn’t heat up so overheating is not an issue and you don’t have to worry about cleaning up any wax. You can simply throw away the pods when you are done using them.

I would say this product has been very useful so far and I would definitely say it’s worth the price I paid for it.  In regards to improvements that could be made to Scentsy Go products in the future, I would suggest making more Scentsy Pods available for purchase as the variety of scents is currently limited to fifteen scents as I was surprised certain popular Scentsy fragrances were not made into Scentsy Pods for the device such as Sunkissed Citrus, By The Sea, Sweet Pea & Vanilla, French Lavender or Ocean. I would also suggest perhaps offering some more fruity scents for the device in the future.

Overall, I would say this portable fragrance product is great for offices, homes and even hotel rooms, if you are traveling. Additionally, this is a product I wish I had during my time in college while living in a dorm where wax warmers and candles were not allowed in the dormitories. If you are looking for a long-lasting fragrance product you can use in your workplace that you don’t have to worry about making a mess or breaking any fire hazard or safety violations with, I would definitely recommend the Scentsy Go.

If you are searching for a Scentsy consultant to purchase products from or if you would like to learn more about the Scentsy Go or any other Scentsy product you may be interested including wax warmers, oil diffusers, room sprays, car bars, wax bars etc., please check out my friend’s official Scentsy page at http://lauradavidson.scentsy.us

Review: GLOW Season 1

Review: GLOW Season 1

GLOW is a Netflix series. It is based on the popular 1980’s women’s wrestling program, Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling. It stars Alison Brie, Kia Stevens, Ellen Wong, Chris Lowell and more. It also features guest cameo appearances by professional wrestling stars Joey Ryan, Brooke Hogan, Alex Riley, Laura James and more.

GLOW starts out with an aspiring actress named Ruth Wilder. After auditioning for a role for a female secretary, she chooses to read the man’s lines instead of the woman’s. After realizing she is not going to get the part, Ruth confronts the woman hosting the audition and it is revealed that Ruth wants roles where women are depicted as powerful and strong. The woman hosting the audition eventually contacts her back informing her of an audition for a television show looking for women that are more eccentric and defy the norm.

Ruth goes to the audition, only to discover it is located at a gym. The director hosting the auditions, Sam, reveals that the television show that Ruth and the other ladies are trying out for is called GLOW, otherwise known as the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling. Pending that they are casted for the show, the ladies would be trained to wrestle. Ruth eventually ends up getting cut from the tryouts, due to being at odds with the director. Determined to prove herself, Ruth returns to the gym, only to be confronted by her best friend and former soap opera star, Debbie Eagan, who lashes out at Ruth for having an affair with her husband.

Ultimately, Ruth and Debbie’s confrontation makes them the promotion’s top stars. This is not without complications, however, as we see Ruth and Debbie struggle throughout the series with both of them trying to find and understand their gimmicks and backstories, Ruth dealing with an unexpected pregnancy and Debbie refusing to work with Ruth at first. Additionally, we see the other ladies deal with issues of their own throughout the series including Cherry being ridiculed for a past miscarriage, Carmen’s father disapproving of her getting into professional wrestling, Carmen’s panic attacks before wrestling a match, Justine trying to reach out to the father she never grew up with and Justine also trying to deal with her romantic attraction to a local pizza delivery boy.

Some of the things I enjoyed about the series were the portrayal of the ladies wrestling gimmicks, particularly Liberty Belle, Zoya, The Welfare Queen and The Beatdown Biddies. If you are a fan of the original GLOW wrestling program, you may also catch the references to some of the original GLOW stars such as The Housewives, Godiva, Hollywood, Mountain Fiji, Americana, Ninotchka etc. There are also references to other famous wrestling personas outside of GLOW, such as Miss Elizabeth and Hulk Hogan. Of course, the show wouldn’t be complete without a GLOW rap, which is shown when Britannica (Rhonda) tries to calm down the crowd after Liberty Belle (Debbie) walks out of her match against Zoya (Ruth) to confront her husband upon his discovery of her being a lady wrestler, to which he ultimately disapproves of.  In the final episode of season one though, we see Liberty Belle defy her husband's wishes for her to not be involved with professional wrestling as she faces Zoya once more in the ring, this time for the prestigious GLOW crown.

While I did think the scene involving Cherry being teased for having a miscarriage was a bit inappropriate, I overall enjoyed the series and feel like a lot of females in the professional wrestling business can relate to the series or at the very least, relate to one of the characters. I also think the series did show a very surreal portrayal of what women in the wrestling business sometimes go through both in the ring and in our personal lives. I hope that another season will be released sometime in the future.

Respecting Other’s Rights To Privacy

Respecting Other’s Rights To Privacy

Privacy is a very personal and tightly guarded thing, especially nowadays with the advancements in technology and social media. It has become much harder to keep a private life when social media and technology can reveal lots of information about a person such as their address, phone number, relationship status, profession, educational background, political views etc. Because of this, some people do their best to try and protect their privacy as much as possible by not revealing certain information they do not wish to reveal. However, that does not stop some people from trying to pry into others lives by seeking out unknown information. While this is typically done through asking questions about someone via text messages or chat messages, there are other ways of snooping into someone’s private life such as browsing through their computer history or phone history.

To me, this is a complete invasion of privacy and if someone such as a friend or family member is snooping through your phone or computer to find out more about you, it can not only cause you to lose respect for them but trust also. If a person truly cares about you, they would not snoop through your phone or computer for private information and threaten or try to leak such information to others. If someone in your life is trying to inform others of private information involving you such as your phone number, home address, work address, relationship status, political views etc. that you do not wish to be revealed, you should have a serious talk with this person immediately about how they have offended you by doing this and that what they are doing can be viewed as a rude and disrespectful act. Inform them how it makes it more difficult for you to confide and trust in them because of it. If they realize the errors of their ways and apologize, give them a second chance.

However, if they show no remorse or still threaten or try to expose personal and private information of yours, it may be best to no longer socialize or associate yourself with them. Yes, this may be a difficult thing to do, especially if they were a family member or close friend but you have to remember you are doing this to protect yourself and your private life. Everyone has a right to privacy and that right to privacy should never be disrupted, threatened or taken away.
