The Importance Of Decision Making & Seeing Things From Other Perspectives
At times, life can be filled with very difficult decisions
that will shape and change our lives in many different ways. At the age of
sixteen, it could be deciding what university you want to attend after high
school and what you wish to major in. At age twenty-two, it could be deciding
what jobs you may wish to apply for after graduating college. At age
thirty-three, it may even be a decision regarding a career change, buying a
house or deciding if you’re ready to start a family with your spouse. Whatever
decision you may be trying to make at a specific point in your life, it is
important to consider the pros and cons and to try to see how the decision affects
other people around you by looking at the situation from various perspectives.
Looking at a situation from different perspectives when
making a decision leads to growth, personal development and learning as we are
looking at things more open-mindedly and with more compassion and empathy,
often resulting in us making more informed and mindful decisions. Additionally,
when we ultimately make a decision that works in our favor, we can gain a lot
of wisdom, knowledge and gratitude from that experience. However, when we make
a decision that doesn’t turn out well, it helps us to stay humble and realize
that there is still much for us to learn. By allowing ourselves to see things
from other perspectives and use that to help influence our decision-making, we
can make smart choices that will enrich and enhance our lives in so many
wonderful and meaningful ways.
